English synopsis from the W. G. Waters translation (1894): "Maestro Lattantio, a tailor, undertakes to train his apprentice Dionigi in his craft the latter, however, learns little of this, hut acquires great skill in a certain art which the tailor secretly practised. Wherefore great enmity sprang up between them, Dionigi in the end devouring his master and espousing Violante, the daughter of the king."
