Notes "The Second Gong" is a short story by Agatha Christie, first published in Strand Magazine, July 1932. It was later published in the collection The Witness for the Prosecution and Other Stories (1948), and also in Problem at Pollensa Bay and Other Stories (1991).

An expanded version of the story, with the inclusion of Hercule Poirot, formed the basis for the novella Dead Man's Mirror (1935).
