The Martian Chronicles: First Magazine Appearances

Original magazine appearances of stories incorporated into Ray Bradbury's The Martian Chronicles. These were not originally written as a series, and have inconsistensies that were addressed by editing for book publication. For example, several stories feature encounters between humans and Martians. In the original appearance of "...and the Moon Be Still as Bright," the Martians had been dead for hundreds or thousands of years. When The Martian Chronicles was prepared, "...and the Moon Be Still as Bright" was rewritten so that the Martians had died from chickenpox contracted from prior encounters with humans.
