Let's use this thread to keep track of authors whose names are spelled differently on books and need ANVs.
J. R. R. Tolkien
This Dutch author went from J. Bernlef to just Bernlef later in his career.
^^^ ooops sorry noth this thread
To me it looks like both of those releases actually do have a space between the initials.
Real name Mark Randall, a 'stuckist' artist who also uses the alias Mark D.
Had to list here otherwise I'll never remeber to edit the PAN and we'll forget who Woof is.
with miss-spelled version below
Honoré de Balzac
Not sure which is the preferred version
Hey guys, we've just had an update that activated ANVs and linked entities for credits! Please let us know if you encounter any problems with these features.
I just saw the linked entries! BRILLIANT! wow, so very cool
May a make a recommendation for the community as we start off?
Before creating ANVs, can we decide as a group what the PAN should be? Perhaps start a thread so we can decide up front rather than have years go by and then having to make 5,000 edits for a popular author like Tolkien.
The ANV has made things much easier but both names still appear on the database and the drop down menu. eg. this book:
By the author Mark P aka Mark Perry
http://www.biblio.gs/credit/38135-Mark-Perry (which I've now added ANV Mark P to)
http://www.biblio.gs/credit/22049-Mark-P (old ANV no longer in use but book still appears under this name and drop down menu)
I'm recommending at this point that we start a new thread for each PAN/ANV discussion.
I haven't taken the time to go through all these but by this point, all ANVs should be linked using the ANV function.
