I've just created this book: https://www.bookogs.com/book/609700-i-hate-myself-and-want-to-die-the-52-most-depressing-songs-youve-ever-heard
which is about 52 different songs by 52 different artists. Should I add each of these artists in "about" credits, or at a certain point does a book about multiple artists just become about music?which is about 52 different songs by 52 different artists. Should I add each of these artists in "about" credits, or at a certain point does a book about multiple artists just become about music?
I'm about to add "Touch Me, I'm Sick: The 52 Creepiest Love Songs You've Ever Heard" so I will have the same issue with that one as well.
(Also, I tried to add the German version of the book to the work I created, but I cannot because the ISBN 10 is not formatted correctly. I don't know how to format an ISBN 10 and there are no photos of the codes attached to the page, how should this be formatted? https://www.bookogs.com/book/191497-i-hate-myself-and-want-to-die-die-52-deprimierendsten-songs-aller-zeiten )
Thanks in advance!
52 much to many, IMO.
I just added one about six different artist, but that's about the limit for me.
(Cfr. libraries that put a limit for authors to three; then it's the first author named followed by "...")
As for incorrect ISBN - leave the ISBN field blank, and add the incorrect ISBN to Notes with a note about it being incorrect.
Excellent. I would do anything for data, but I wasn't looking forward to doing that.
And I've now made the recommended ISBN 10 change on the German version.
You can put all 52 artists in the About/Subject, it would be the right thing to do, but you don't have too. It's really up to you how much of a complete submission you want to do.
Supernaut1970 - do you volunteer to amend this?!
I don't own that book so it would be impossible for me to do that.
Someone will one day.
The formatting of the numbers is not the problem, the ISBN 10 seems to have an incorrect check digit (the last digit), it should be 3 instead of 4.
If the ISBN seems to otherwise match the EAN, and other numbers (sometimes parts are used as catalog numbers etc.), it's most likely the check digit that's wrong. There are tools to recalculate it, for example: http://www.hahnlibrary.net/libraries/isbncalc.html
And, if the Bookogs system does not accept the ISBN, you can always also use the plain "ISBN" credit so you can enter it as it's printed, it does not discriminate. :-)
