Das Erbe der Guldenburgs (The Legacy of the Guldenburgs) is a series of three books, each the novelization of one season of the German television series of the same name.
The story revolves around the private and business relationships between the aristocratic Guldenburg family, who run a traditional brewery in northern Germany and a rival family.
The series was first broadcast between January 1987 and May 1990. The first season had a 90 minutes pilot and 13 episodes of 45 minutes, seasons two & three 13 episodes of 45 minutes each.
Although it was slammed by critics, the TV series (written by Michael Baier) achieved high ratings and was sold to several European countries.
