Fritz Leiber was an American writer of fantasy, horror, and science fiction. He was one of the fathers of sword and sorcery fantasy.

Leiber's best known work includes his stories of Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser. He won six Hugo awards and three Nebula awards. He was named a Grand Master by the Science Fiction Writers of America in 1981.
