James M. Cain

Real name: James Mallahan Cain

James M. Cain (July 1, 1892 – October 27, 1977) was an American author and journalist. Cain's best known novels include The Postman Always Rings Twice and Double Indemnity. Cain was the son of an opera singer, and used his knowledge of opera in his novels Serenade and Mildred Pierce.
