Red Saunders

Professional photographer who combines his photographic practice with cultural, artistic, musical, and political activism. He started his career in the late 1960s with a photography assignment during conflict in the Middle East. He started work for the Sunday Times Supplement in 1969. In the 1970s he had design and editorial clients including a collaboration with art directors at Pan and Fontana Books. He took on general commercial work, book jackets, record sleeves, ads, point of sale, food still life's, tabletop, portraits, landscape.

He took on projects with Rolling Stone, GQ, Time. Life, and Conde Nast magazines. He ran a small record label Radical Wallpaper Records and was one of the co-founders of Rock Against Racism. In the mid-1980s he set up Short Circuit Films and went on to produce and direct a number of films.
