Anthony Samuel "Tony" Lane (May 2, 1944 – January 1, 2016) was an American designer and art director. He started his career in the 1960s at Harper’s Bazaar, before moving on to become art director at Holiday magazine. He was hired by art directors Bob Cato and John Berg at Columbia Records as a designer. Behind numerous iconic LP sleeves, he frequently worked in collaboration with Nancy Donald. In 1974 Lane became the art director at Rolling Stone Magazine. He went on to become executive vice president and creative director at Design Co.
