Hermann Hesse

Hermann Karl Hesse (born July 2, 1877 - died August 9, 1962) was a German born Swiss poet and author. He was awarded the 1946 Nobel Prize in Literature. His novel Demian was originally published under the pseudonym Emil Sinclair, which is the name of the narrator of the book. It was later revealed that Hesse was the author.
